playdate suppers

What are your standard failsafe suppers for playdates?

We had sausage & mash this evening, and DS hates spag bol. (or any type of mince dish)and for some reason I think pasta & sauce is a cop out (although don't know why, maybe because it's my 'can't be bothered' supper to do )

All ideas greatly received!

do you know what, I think DS has had these at another playdate...he said something about smiles and I thought he was just pleased at what he had to eat..

I'm really not ponce-tastic...my DC just like what I give them to eat.

But I'm equally keen to feed other children food that they will eat. I can't bear to throw stuff anyway.

You can make the fishfingers but then they won't taste quite like the ones they may have at home - so may still reject, lol. I sometimes do homemade, sometimes the frozen variety.

Smiley faces are frozen pota product shaped into a round face. I never think they look very smiley though - more evil.

I always find wedges go down well, or mash with fishfingers.

fried chicken, mash and broccoli

pasta with flaked fish (if I know they eat fish), broccoli and grated cheese

Spag bol (minus mince if your ds won't eat it)

Mine are quite small but i wouldnt do casserole or stews, if its a meal with different components hopefully they cant hate all of it!

jacket potatoes, and offer a limited choice of toppings, say cheese and coleslaw or cheese and beans

fish and chips/mashed potatoe and peas/sweetcorn (i would buy boneless/skinless fish bits just to be safe)

pizza
