CAUTION: Do not eat uncooked.

???

Why? What possible risk could there be in eating a raw petit pois?

In fact, at one stage the only way I could get vegetables into DD was to provide her with an egg cup full of frozen peas and sweetcorn as a snack.

labelling laws sometims mean stupid warnings are put on packets.

It doesn't mean you have to follow them.

maybe they aren't considered quite sterile enough to eat uncooked?

(my DD went through a phase when the only pea she'd eat was a still-frozen one. Now she's gone t'other way and will only eat mushy!)

I have seen this on loads of brands of frozen peas. If I or my dcs wanted to eat them raw, I would probably give them a quick rinse first.

Why do they have to be sterile though?
We always nibble on fruit and veg from the allotment which is not sterile.

dd loves frozen peas, she can hear the tinkle sound they make being poured in to a jug from upstairs !

I never wash 'em.

I'm surprised it didn't say
'Caution-contents may be cold'

ruhavingalarf · 27/01/2010 18:48
