Potato topped pie - but sliced potatoes?

I make cottage pie quite often, but I'd like to try doing something similar but with sliced potatoes instead.

Does anyone do this? Do you start with raw sliced potatoes, or cook the potatoes then slice them? And how long / what temp?

With cottage pie, because everything is already cooked through, I only give it 25 mins or so at 180C, but I'd guess raw potatoes would be longer....

i slice the spuds, parboil them sliced and then put them on top of the pie - only takes 20-25 mins in the oven then

drizzle a bit of oil over the top and thy go nice and crispy

Thanks - that sounds like it ought to be fairly straightforward, I'll try it next time!

def make sure they are cooked through, the cook at my work does not cook it through and the raw potato is horrible

Ew no, chunks of raw potato would be very offputting!
