DD has come home from school saying that she loves Polish onion bread (not sure exactly why they were tasting this in school, but there you are ).

DD is a world-class fussy knickers who has a particular issue with onion, so this is a step forward. Also, I'd like to try it myself .

Can anyone with knowledge of Polish food tell me either how to make this, or a particular product / brand I should buy? We have access to several Polish grocers so ingredients or ready made stuff shouldn't be difficult to get if I know what I'm looking for.

I have no idea.

I do however love polish bread in general - our local polish grocer has an amazing range and it's so cheap for a loaf that would cos three times the price in Waitrose etc.

Go in and ask them?

Any shop that says polski sklep (Polish for polish food). I'm part Northern Europe and grew up eating this sort of stuff, it's delicious.

Where do you live?

I can recommend a wonderful central London one - they are happy to follow me around the shop and translate things for me.

out of London, unfortunately, but I think I might take your advice and go and befriend our local retailer at the polski sklep shop. It's so unlike DD to rave about any food, so I'm keen to capitalise on it.
