We used an earthenware one on holiday that seemed ok. I'm rather partial to my Le Creuset as well, seems like something heavy and cast iron would give better results than thinner metal.

Any comments?

I have a Tesco one. Works fine and food comes out very tasty imo.

We have this one - is brilliant - at this very moment my house smells of slow cooked brisket of beef with red wine and shallots!!

Goes from hob to slow cooker thingy so you can brown stuff in before you start cooking it and then onto the table and into the dishwasher!

Is big enough for 6 adults and 2 kids too.

hmm.

Had a look at the Which? report.

They recommend the Breville VTP043 and VTP062. I think I'll get the VTP062.
