With potatoes, onions, mushroom and cheese. Instead of cream will it work with half fat creme fraiche please?

Don't know but it sounds lovely. You can make a potato bake thing with milk, so I don't see why not. maybe stir in a bit of cornflour to 'stabilise' it?

Last time I made it with just potatoes and onion I only used cream as I forgot the milk. I might use both today. Not fancying the corn flour though. Thanks.

yes, used CF before when "dieting"

My recipe book (French) doesn't have any cream in it, just potatoes, garlic, milk and cheese.

Corn flour has no taste though!

The use of the CF is purely because it has a shorter use by date than the cream.

Cream it is.

You can make it just with a good stock and it is deeeeelicious!

Course you can use creme fraiche - just thin it with a bit of milk.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 05/01/2010 17:35

Cream has gone in now. Will have to find another use for the creme fraiche.
