I just use ordinary sandwich bags.

Cybilsnotgettingdressed · 22/12/2009 19:14

yes but lay em dead flat in freezer then defrosting will be quicker

MerlinsBeard · 22/12/2009 19:14

The plastic things that Chinese takeaways come in

hohoholepew · 22/12/2009 19:15

Oh good one MOM.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/12/2009 19:15

To freeze liquids I put it in a freezer bag in a jug, tie the top up and put in freezer. When frozen take frozen lump out the jug and store as is. Takes up less room this way than loads of different pots.

duckyfuzz · 22/12/2009 19:15

they llok great, I use tupperware boxes eg there - better value, reusable

FolornHope · 22/12/2009 19:15

lol at momof yes
my mum has decided that dh isa charity case and is going to bulk make soup for him for when he works at home.

Don't really need heavy duty freezer bags imo, any old cheapo ones will do.

duckyfuzz · 22/12/2009 19:16

but I use bigger ones than those, they are titchy samll

skymoo · 22/12/2009 19:18

I'd use the plastic containers you get from chinese takeaway - we have lots

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/12/2009 19:19

This is nearly as exciting as the tea towel thread

traceybath · 22/12/2009 19:19

Two ladlefuls into a freezer bag et voila - soup for one.

Do also use yoghurt pots.

Bleatblurt · 22/12/2009 19:21

Same as MoM, but you can buy those containers at pound shops so don't need to clean old chinese food ones.

triggerfish · 22/12/2009 19:23

I use the pour and store bags. They are really sturdy and can be used loads of times.
Failing that, I've used normal zip-lok bags successfully

fanjolina · 22/12/2009 19:30

ROUND tupper-ware style plastic containers. I can't put soup in square or rectangular containers

TulipsAndTinsel · 22/12/2009 19:31

empty plastic tubs from the chinese, we have tonnes

ClaireDeLoon · 22/12/2009 19:34

I bought some of the chinese type plastic tubs from somewhere and use them for soups and stocks, the stck nicely - I think the lakeland bags linked too would be awkward shapes and take up too much space?

ClaireDeLoon · 22/12/2009 19:34

stck=stack

Cybilsnotgettingdressed · 22/12/2009 19:36

your bloody gussetted soup bags are now appearing as pop ups on my email page

arisHOHOHOcat · 22/12/2009 19:41

i use those plastic tubs for freezing single portions of curry / chilli and they are perfect

use canned soup though

lovechoc · 22/12/2009 19:44

we just wash out our takeaway plastic tubs and freeze soup in them. agree with clairedeloon they stack v nicely in the freezer.

Bunnysoprano · 22/12/2009 20:59

Pour and store bags. Brilliant for taking to work and er...pouring!
