If your Christmas pudding has been left to mature for 12 months...

Will it then matter if it has spent a further 12 months in the cupboard?!

I have FOUR puddings in the cupboard, with BB dates showing anythign from May 2008 to March 2009

I may just have to resign myself to throwing them away, but it seems wasteful. Any ideas on what I can do with them?

I would probably risk the March 09 one but not the May 08... See what it's like when you open it?

sugar & alcohol are both natural preservatives so may be OK?

Should be perfectly OK if they are unopened. Perfectly matured. The shops and manufacturers have to cover their a*s. If it isn't any good, then it probably wasn't a very good pud in the first place.
