Party is from 2-6pm ish so strictly speaking no food necessary but personally I'll need something to nibble on and I guess it's be rude not to share...

So I need suggestions for tasty nibbles that people can eat without implements and preferably no plates either. Oh and they need to be cold and preferably something I can prepare in advance.

I was thinking some of those tiny mozarella pearls with sundried tomato and/or roasted peppers tomato, something smoked salmony, olives, crostini/bruschette with various toppings (which I can't think of) mini yorkshire puds with horseradish & beef and parma ham with something in the middle. Plus little meringues and something else sweet.

Vol au vents. I read a thread here yesterday about them.
What about prawns on toothpicks. We also find that a tub of philly with some sweet chilli sauce stirred in served with tortilla chips to dip go down a treat.
Small pakora, samosa and onion bhajis too.

If you can be arsed, halved walnuts with a tiny bit of stilton on top. Yum.

Oh that sounds like just the thing!

check out the passionate cook she has some lovely ones - lovely mushroom crostini that you can do more or less completely in advance and feta, olive and melon skewers which are just gorgeous - they taught me that I actually like olives after 40-odd years of not realising...

your ideas so far sound lovely btw - I think you'll like the passionate cook website. if you have enough little glasses you could do her mojito cheesecakes - again totally yum.

it's great isn't it? I'm quite evangelical about it - always telling people about it. fantastic photos and the bits inbetween the recipes are quite readable - normally I don't like stuff like that.
