Thicking of putting dark chocolate chips in Xmas fruit cake. Will it work?

I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before or eaten it, but I'm not sure how exactly it would work.

Yes it does. However bear in mind that dried fruit - esp when soaked in alcohol - gets incredibly hot during cooking and can scorch chocolate.
