8 just expired Dime bars- can't eat them all in one go- any recipe ideas?

Found them at the back of my cupboard and while I could eat them all over the course of an ofternoon I think it's better for everyone that I don't.
Could I chop them up like chocolate chips? what would happen to the Dime-y bit when I cook them?
TIA

Although someone may come along with a delicious recipe I'm sure it won't hurt you to eat one a day (or even one a week) until they are all gone.

And how on earth do you forget 8 Dime Bars?

I think Nigella has a recipe for dime bar ice cream which is basically IIRC vanilla ice cream with crushed dime bars stirred through it. Not exactly the weather but the kids probably won't care.

I had some diam cookies from sainsburys yesterday and they were lovley

Having said that, I would have thought the chocolate chip cookies with broken Dime Bar as choc chips would be lovely. Or smash them up and put then on icecream.

Smash them up and use in a biscuit base for cheesecake.

Though, really, you should totally eat them all in one go and you know it.

you don't have to eat them all in one go.
it's chocolate and toffee, so the date is just a "best before" not a "you must eat by" date.

you can leave them another 2 years if you're so inclined (and when chocolate gets that white hue, it's not off, it's just separated and perfectly fine to eat)

a friend of mine made brownies with rolos in once...maybe you could do the same with your dime bars?
although i wouldn't worry about the expiry date too much

I have a great recipe. You'll need:

1 envelope
1 first class stamp
1 pen

Method:

  1. Put Dime bar in envelope.
  2. Write gagamama's address on envelope.
  3. Affix stamp.
  4. Put envelope into nearest postbox.
  5. Relax!

I should stress that this recipe works equally well with any type of chocolate.

Dime bar chip cookies

TheFoosa · 25/11/2009 15:30

slightly improved variation to gagamama's recipe

  1. write thefoosa's address on envelope
gagamama · 25/11/2009 17:20

I'm pretty sure your version won't work, TheFoosa!
