Turning chicken stew into pies/pasties?

I have some leftover chicken stew in the fridge and both shortcrust and puff pastry... Can I turn the stew into pasties by just plonking it onto circles of pastry, sealing it together and baking?

Which pastry would be better, do you think?

You would need to reduce the stew if it's watery.

I personally prefer a blind baked shortcrust botton with a puff top for pies but you could use either for pasties
