successful recipe for mini christmas cakes?

I started a thread the other day about which tins to use for individual christmas cakes but I can't find it! Am sorted on tins (Sainsburys Basic sponge puddings - 54p each!) but I can't find a recipe that doesn't involve making a big cake and cutting it up. One recipe I looked at said it wasn't suitable for small cakes because of the long cooking time, so I'm worried about using a normal recipe and just dividing the mixture up.

I know there are Mnetters who've done this - they were on my other thread - so if they, or anyone else, can post a tried and trusted recipe, I'd be very grateful.
TIA

here's your thread, but I'm afraid I can't help with a recipe. Sorry.
