Atkins Diet (again!)

Just watched Tonight with Trevor MacDonald re. the pros and cons of the Atkins Diet and have reread the Induction bit with determination.

Has anyone got suggested menus for the first 2 weeks? Something apart from the suggestions in the book.

I know I could work them out for myself but it's late and I'm a lazy cow! Thanks.

Hello everyone, I am a relative newbie to mumsnet. Saw this thread and just had to say my piece. I have tried the Atkins diet ( on and off ) for nearly a year. Have lost 1 1/2 stone on it. I think its great, but only if I stick to it faithfully... ( which in my case is impossible. How can one pass up a magnum choc ice with the kids on a Sat afternoon, or a helping of Tiramisu after a nice romantic meal.
I find that I put the weight back on much faster when I take a break from the Atkins diet , than when I come off any other kind of diet. Do any of you find that? and I have to go thru induction again every time, which is so hard!!! any tips anyone on doing it really successfully? I still ahve another stone to loose. Am 40 next birthday and would love to look slinky and sexy and surprise my dh.

Thought this was relevant.

Is anyone doing, or thinking of doing the atkins diet at the moment.

I am intending starting the induction on Sunday and wouldn't mind a bit of moral support. My plan is to jump start my weight loss with the atkins induction and then go back to my slimming world diet, which I feel is a much better nutritional balance. I have just got to a plateau with my weight loss and being disheartened has seen me pile on a few pounds in the past month or so.

Anyone out there ?

Hi Kayleigh...I ve just started too! and messed it all up by having brown sauce with my eggs n bacon aaarghhh!!! Trying not to worry and carry on ..had prawn cocktail and lettuce for lunch, and a few strawbs n cream..trying to guzzle loads of water which is a pain cos the toilet in my shop is broken..this was all a bit of a last minute decision ..I dont really know everything about the induction foods and am prob doing loads wrong but my stomach is growing daily and all I keep doing is sqeezing my self into jeans that make my muffin bulge horribly
