fairly flexible on location as long as there is somewhere to shop nearby! Was thinking of Kings Road/Knightsbridge general area...

Budget?

EyeballsintheSky · 23/10/2009 10:01

There are some good places on the South Bank. Was in Las Iguanas last night which is South American (paella mmmm, don't tell Rosemary Conley!). Hungerford Bridge right beside which takes you back into the Strand.

NancyBotwin · 23/10/2009 10:01

Oh I don't know, anywhere between £15-30 a head?

Thanks but not planning to go to the South Bank - too far from the shops!

Ziani is nice, traditional Italian.

Harvey Nichols restaurant does a £30 set menu I think, not including any wine.

Do you like Japanese food? If so, you could try Zuma, check the website though as I am not sure of prices!

NancyBotwin · 23/10/2009 10:11

Zuma is good in terms of location... I like Japanese food but the last time I had Japanese I had to have toast when I got home as I was starving - portions were teeny!

Yeah, it isn't always terribly filling!

Bluebird?

Ewe · 23/10/2009 10:16

There is a really good gastropub I have been to a couple of times but I can't remember the bloody name! Will let you know if it comes to me...

happysmiley · 23/10/2009 12:39

ok, not quite lunch and a tiny weeny bit above budget but a highly recommend the afternoon tea at the berkeley hotel in knightsbridge. it's amazing and such a totally girly experience. handbag shaped cakes and shoe shaped biscuits. all look beautiful and taste pretty good too. fantastic. and i guarantee that you will never want to eat again, you can ask for as many refills as you want, all included in the price.

pret a portea

Oriels in Sloane Square always works for me!

NancyBotwin · 23/10/2009 12:51

Harvey Nichols 5th Floor is good.

NancyBotwin · 25/10/2009 08:26

I went for your suggestion MarmMummy - thanks it was just what we needed. Was actually surprised there are so few restaurants on Kings Road...
