Meant to make ice cream with it but no room in freezer for bowl. Use by date was Sunday but it's still fine. Can't think what to do with it!

Make a mousse of some description?eg chocolate?

if you have bacon and potatoes and cheese you could make tartiflette (basically posh potato bake thing) which is divine.

Make a cheesecake?

That's a lot of cream! Is there room to freeze some of it in ice-cubes to use later?

use some in a pasta sauce?

gingertoo · 20/10/2009 12:25

Mushrooms, bacon, parmesan and cream sauce for pasta.
Then put the rest with a nice fruit crumble

I made a lovely chocolate meringue thing last week, went down a treat. layers of chocolate meringue and chocolate whipped cream. Can get the recipe for you if you like?

Just serve it on some hot apple pie. A BIG apple pie.

Have you got any fruit, eg plums? Make a clafoutis - dead simple and when I made one recently my lot were very impressed!

I have some too that needs using, bought it for the cheesecake that I didn't make at weekend, I will be making a carbonara type thing tonight.

Bleh · 20/10/2009 13:18

Or this cheesy thing:

  • Mix the cream with some beer (optional)
  • put big slices of white bread in an oven-proof dish, pour cream over
  • put a thick layer of nice cheese (port salut works well)
  • Bake in the oven until melted and bubbling
  • Eat with bread and salad.
Not the healthiest of meals, but really nice when it's cold and miserable outside. It's like a variation on cheese fondu.
BucketsOfBlood · 20/10/2009 16:14

Bleh I think I love you .

Oh a second for dauphinoise pots. Heaven!

meltedmarsbars · 20/10/2009 17:09

Eat with spoon in front of telly.

MissMoopy · 20/10/2009 17:17

Buy large chocolate cake and tip on top, then see meltedmarsbars previous comment!!

Bleh · 21/10/2009 12:11

Buckets

I had it in a restaurant, and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since (just need to make it). You can eat it with bread, or just scoop it out with a spoon.

Winibaghoul · 21/10/2009 13:58

Could do a stroganoff?
