how can it not whip? have you added enough sugar? have you got an electric whip and can bribe a child to hold it in there for like 30 mins?

Try this: get an absolutely clean bowl and tip it in and try whipping again. It can work.

add the yolks, plus flour and marge and make a sponge?

plenty of sugar for weight of egg.
