mustrunmore · 08/09/2009 18:07

Keep it till the school needs things for the bottle tombola

2greatboys · 08/09/2009 18:10

Coq au vin (sp?)?

Crapweasel · 08/09/2009 18:11

As Eleanora has beaten me to the "send it to me" gag...

...there is a Gordon Ramsey recipe for Bourguignon (sp) that takes nearly a whole bottle of red and is v. good. Can't link at the moment but you could google it.

MmeLindt · 08/09/2009 18:11

boef bourgenon (can't spell that, sorry)

Chicken cacciatore (Jamie Oliver has a fab recipe for this)

Send it to me

some folk freeze red wine as ice cubes to pop into casseroles etc

NoGoodNicknamesLeft · 08/09/2009 18:14

apparently shiraz is a great one to use when making a sangria; if you like sangria

first google hit for sangria

EccentricaGallumbits · 08/09/2009 18:19

Drink it.
Seriously. Your taste buds need educating. By the time you are 2 thirds down the bottle I can almost guarantee you'll be converted.

CarrieDababi · 08/09/2009 18:43

oh thats a clever idea to freeze in ice cubes

might look up coq au vin
as i don;t fancy anything beefy

wouldn't be worth posting

On the v.rare occasion there is leftover wine in this house I freeze it for cooking. I find it stays slushy because of the alcohol so I do it in a freezer bag rather than ice cube tray.

Hulababy · 08/09/2009 19:15

Add to tomato based sauces to make them a bit richers. Add to things like shepherd's/cottage pie, bolognaise, chilli...
