Do I need to brown mince before putting it in the oven?

Am going to casserole beef mince - do I need to brown it on the hob first? Or can I just put it in the oven completely raw with the vegetables and sauce?

That is what I thought but I wasn't sure why!

Feeling lazy. Might do sausage hot-pot instead as I can bung that all in raw

hmmm, i sometimes cook raw mince in sauce - i just make sure it cooks for a long time and is constantly bubbling... no problems so far!!! the mince is lovely, no clumps - it works perfectly!
