What's wrong with my hummus?

Magimixed tahini, chick peas, olive oil, crushed garlic and lemon juice but it came out rather dry. So, put in more olive oil, still texture not right.

What can I do to make it better?

I never put tahini in, don't like it. But I do loosen it down with water. I like it chunky tho

Forgot I'd started this thread ... anyway, couldn't save the hummus and ended up throwing it out.

Got the recipe from Good Housekeeping cookery Book:
400g can chick peas drained and rinsed
Juice of 1 lemon (we only had half a lemon, so that may have been the problem?)
4tbsp tahini paste
1 garlic clove crushed
5tbsp extra virgin olive oil
All blitzed in magimix

Anyone got a better recipe as I won't be trying that one again?

Yep that recipe is heavy on the tsahini and lacking in the liquid.

I'd say halve the tahini and double the lemon juice, plus add up to a quarter of a mug of water if needed (but not the chickpea tin juice)

be warned, mixing water with tahini makes it thicker until the right amount of water has been added. I have cried before when the addition of water turns my humous into a thick paste, only to persevere and keep adding until it is creamy and smooth again
