Have lots of soup and not enough freezer pots! Can I freeze soup in freezer bags? Once soup has totally cooled down obv

Course you can! Lay the bag in a box or similar in case it leaks and freeze til solid. Then remove box.

Second the box idea - you get stackable soup bricks that way, instead of some undulating Dali-esque shape that never quite fits in no matter what you do.

Never done homemade soup, but I've frozen stock, so there's not that much difference I don't think.

agree I do it that way too. You just reminded me I have some parsnip soup lurking in the depths of my freezer

Box is a good idea - I have had bags of soup mould themselves around the bars of the cage-like freezer drawer before - very difficult to get out!
