left over spinach pie filling - can I pasta it?

made a spanikopita (filling of spinach, ricotta, feta, parmesan, egg & nutmeg)

Made way too much filling and asked dh to bring home cannelloni (sp??) tubes but, quelle surprise, he forgot.

Can I just mix it with a bunch of cooked pasta tubes and bake it with a tomato and basil sauce on top, and then chuck it in the freezer? Will that work? Or do I not cook the pasta first, a la lasagne and cannelloni?

Can it wait until you get some cannelloni tomorrow?
