Veggie soup smells a bit 'sweet' - any ideas?

It contains:

Red onion, ginger, cumin, garam masala, sweetcorn, butternut squash, some other squash from FIL's allotment (a flat yellow one, don't know what it's called!), a carrot, couple of potatoes, half a cooking apple, veggie stock cube.

I wanted it to be sweetly curried but not so much as to taste like a dessert!

Anything else I could add that I'm likely to have in the storecupboard already? (I'm on a tight budget so can't buy anything in)

Bump begging for help - it's not horrible, but not that nice, and DS will want his tea soon.

Would natural yoghurt help or would that just make it even more like a curry sauce with nothing in the sauce?!? Or another stock cube?

Lemon juice and black pepper.

Or a bit of chilli powder or fresh chilli.

Whew - janeite, thank you so much. I went with juice of quarter of a lemon & lots of black pepper and it is now palatable bordering on nice

Many many thanks!
