Is it just double cream?
or do I need to do something more like a carbonara sauce with the eggs added??

Double cream if you're being naughty

I do a pasta and salmon thing with spring onions and lemon zest. It is SO easy. The recipe says use double cream but I tend to substitute with creme freiche instead

that sounds nice, not got any spring onions in but sounds lovely

so just add the double cream to the pasta and salmon and heat through - is that it??

This recipe has lemon juice and half fat creme fraiche. Looks good!

Single cream will work fine. I usually warm up very gently the (smoked) salmon and cream in a small milk pan (adding a clove of garlic and/or lemon zest if you like them) and then pour over the pasta when ready. Would probably work well just by mixing full fat Greek yogurt, smoked salmon and perhaps a little dill and then tossing the pasta in it (no heating, otherwise the yogurt separates).

I do one with creme fraiche (I guess you could substitute double cream, but the creme fraiche adds a nice sharpness)

Heat the creme fraiche (or double cream) until it's simmering. Add cooked salmon (flaked) add some dill if you've got it, and a squeeze of lemon juice... season to taste.

It's yummy and very quick.

You could use a bog-standard onion instead

Fry in a little butter or oil

When soft, add the salmon (i use smoked salmon) and the grated zest of a lemon

Then put the creme freiche/cream in and stir and simmer gently

Add to cooked pasta

Season and add black pepper, drizzle some lemon juice if you fancy

Quick, EASY and tasty

here is one I do all the time - delish!
350g broccoli i small florets
300g salmon fillets
150g pack of soft cheese with garlic and herbs
142lm carton of single cream (or creme fraiche
2 tbsp of sundried tomato paste/puree

Cook the pasta for right time, adding brocoli for last 6 minutes.
mix all the other ingredients in a bowl -season to taste - cook the salmon and then flake into the sauce and mix with the pasta and brocoli. Easy!
