It's 0.688kg and it says the following on the label...

Brisket/Pot roast
Cook in oven at 180 for 1hr 15 mins per 1kg plus 35 mins. (Cook for a min of 2 hours if the joint is less than 1.5kg)

So do I cook it for 2 hours or less.
I'm in 2 minds, if I cook it for 2 hours will it be all dried up or if I do it less will it be red raw?

I was just gonna throw itin a casserole pot in stock with potatoes etc.

Help!

if your going to put it in a casserole dish with pots then at least 2hr, r u putting a lid on it? IME things take longer when covered up in a pot in the oven. if you are putting a lid on then i would put it in for 2.5 hrs, at the end of the day u can always trun the heat down to keep warm but not cook.

If you pot roast it with stock and potatoes, then it won't go all dried up, the stock will keep it nice and moist, so 2 hours (or even more) is OK. Long, slow cooking is best for brisket, keeps it nice and tender, I usually do it for nearer three hours than two.

I normally put a lid on when I do a stew so I think I will for this.

So cook for 2.5 hrs then.
Thank you.
