Cooked it and just turned off oven before bed. It's still warm now and I can't decide if it's better to leave it out or stick it in fridge - I have to go out now...

Thanks for any tips.

fridge, I have done this on occasion and lived to tell the tale. As long as the flies haven't been all over it.

ok, bit worried now. Really need to brush up my food hygiene knowledge. Am 26 week pg so prefer not to take risks but honestly thought would be ok.

Anyone else think I should chuck it?

You should definitely get rid of it. Especially as its been so hot lately and you're pregnant. Seriously, it's not worth the risk. No way would I eat it.

Shit shit shit. Shit.

Ok. Thanks!

God I must brush up this stuff...

Sorry...but if it has been sat out warm all night it has to go in the bin.

MaybeAfterBreakfast · 04/07/2009 14:40

Bin. No question.

FlappyTheBat · 04/07/2009 14:54

Food should be cooled down ASAP after cooking and then placed in the fridge, not allowed to cool overnight, in an oven that is still warm.

advice here

Definitely bin it, it really isn't worth taking the chance, especially so, given that you are pregnant.

PerfectPrefect · 04/07/2009 14:59

Bin it.

It is the length of time that it takes to get from 70 to 4C which is important. The shorter the better. 18hrs (ish) is certainly not good.
