Roast beef with all the trimmings yesterday, followed by strawberries and cream.

Speedy seafood pasta tonight.
Tuesday night rice (using cooked rice, beef from Sunday, peas, omelette).
Shepherds pie with veg on Wednesday.
Stir fry chicken/quorn with veg on Thursday
Moroccan mince with lemon couscous on Friday.

We base ours on potato/rice/pasta and work it out from there if that helps.

notamumyetbutoneday · 29/06/2009 16:21

peachy may i have the recipe for sticky chicken please?

janeite · 29/06/2009 16:59

Tonight -

to start - sweet potato and coconut soup: very thin and light

main - dd2 has made cheese and potato pie at school, so that, with salad and homemade honey mustard dressing

pud - nope

Tomorrow -
I am eating out. Dp and the girls will have a "freezer meal" of some sort: probably veggie bakes with salad and new potatoes

Weds:
Greek beans, greek salad, tsatziki, pitta

Thurs - pasta with homemade pesto

Fri - chickpea and vege curry and rice, with yoghurt and salad

We do similar to jugglingwoman in that we tend to work from a carb outwards.

naomi83 · 29/06/2009 18:22

Sunday night- sausages, sweet potato mash and green beans (frozen)
Monday night- pasta with homemade veg and tomato sauce and grated cheese
Tuesday night- Meatballs, rice and more grean beans
Wednesday night- roast veg and feta tart (puff pastry based-very easy)
Thurs- pizza and salad
Friday night- roast chicken with potatoes and ratatoe
Saturday night- chicken salad with garlic bread
Dessert is yoghurt/fruit, except for weekends when I make cake and ice cream

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 29/06/2009 18:33

notamum- it's very 'to taste': put 1tbsp english mustard in a large bowl, add 1/2 tsp ground ginge, dash of soy, shake of chilli powder and 5spice (adapt to what you have). Stir in juice of one lemon and zest, add honey to atse (takes quite a lot- keep trying); roll chicken (I do 2kilo legs) in amrinade, leave in fridge an hour then bake on medium until starting to caramelise

Boys love it

janeite · 29/06/2009 18:46

Ooh that feta tart sounds delish.

naomi83 · 29/06/2009 19:52

here enjoy

janeite · 29/06/2009 20:36

Yum. Thank you. Don't like tinned tomatoes though - do you think I could use pesto instead?

naomi83 · 30/06/2009 12:10

Definately. It's one of those pantry dinners-whatever you've got in the house

norksinmywaistband · 30/06/2009 12:18
