I went to this Slimming class the other day as I wanted to have a look and sign up for after I give birth (I am due beginning of June), but the leader convinced me to sign up now at 36 weeks pregnant, saying that this will help me to manage the weight even before I give birth.

She said it was safe for me to go on the diet now and that I would not only stop putting on any more weight, but I could do with loosing a few pounds before the birth as otherwise the baby gets too big and he's got to come out somehow.

As the diet seemed quite OK to me, not too unhealthy, I signed up and started the day after.
The problem is that the diet doesn't take into account cravings and the milk and cheese are very limited.

My doctor said that I should have never embarked on a diet in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, but should eat little and often and what I feel like, as my body is sending me signals of what I need.

What do you think, is this safe and have you ever heard of pg women at slimming classes?
I am very confused and worried.
Of course I don't want to hurt my baby, but in other country is quite normal that you go on a diet when pregnant if you have put on too much weight...

well, if I have to own up... I will!
I was really sick the first 4 months, so I put on hardly any weight, then the sickness went and I got very hungry and started stuffing my face.
I was eating non-stop Crunchie for 2 months. I never felt full and had very strong cravings for cream teas, donuts and profiteroles. So nearly all the weight really piled on in only a couple of months. I was also feeling very tired and stopped going to the gym.
Then the cravings and the tiredness went and I decided that I had to do something. So I gave up the C* and started the gym again and have been good for the last couple of months.
But I guess I will still put on weight in the next few weeks, I have put on 3 pounds this week alone and still have 3 weeks to go.

I am sure the class leader would disapprove of me....
