What food do you always make sure you have in?

Off shopping tomorrow, I menu plan (sort of) but I am a bit aware I don't always have enough stuff to rustle up a lunch or an emergency meal. Anyway my question is as the thread title -what have you always got in?

I've always got pasta and pesto. Instant dinner in an emergency.

I usually have bolognese/chilli in the freezer for quick dinners too. Big potful divided into portions.

Chopped tomatoes, tuna, eggs, mayo, cheese, bread (in freezer), salady bits.

dairymoo · 07/06/2009 21:34

Creme fraiche, sealed packets of pancetta, eggs, parmasean & pasta - spaghetti carbonara is a speedy and yummy supper.

Also always have avocados, tomatoes, basil (from plant) good cheese and bread in the freezer for some sort of thrown together light lunch. Oh and borlotti beans and good tinned tuna for salad.

I seem to always have quite a lot of food really .

Wine.

Actually I have the same problem as you - am good at cooking but hate to buy too much fresh stuff unless I know what I'm doing with it as I always end up wasting it.
