Revolting

imo!

Someone made it for me once and I was nearly sick, had to throw it down the sink while they weren't looking.

It does exist. You can get packet mixes, as far as I was aware it is called French Onion Soup.

You can get onion gravy mixes and granules (like Bisto), might be worth trying one of those made up thinly instead?

Tambajam · 06/06/2009 18:12

It's called French onion soup so it sounds like they don't have the version you need.

princessmel · 06/06/2009 18:12

Sorry! Someone will help soon.....

littlelamb · 06/06/2009 18:12

Is it not just french onion soup?!
Tesco online can be funny in their search results though. Try just searching onion and see if anything comes up in the soup aisle (speaks from bitter experience trying to find the bloody coffee ice cream)

foxinsocks · 06/06/2009 18:14

how about by brand, like heinz onion soup, or campbells?

foxinsocks · 06/06/2009 18:18

can you get the tinned stuff instead? or will it not work?

how odd that they have stopped it in packets.

rubyslippers · 06/06/2009 18:19

i used to get a kosher one

PortAndLemon · 06/06/2009 18:19

Unless they've come over all poncey and are calling it Soupe à l'oignon, I suppose...

MrsMattie · 06/06/2009 18:20

Ooh I love it. Have never had it out a packet, though.

TheProvincialLady · 06/06/2009 18:21

Please, please just buy some chicken sauce.

It really bothers me that someone out there is mixing packet soup and apricot juice and eating it

Thrifty · 06/06/2009 18:29

ainsley harriet instant french onion soup any good?

PortAndLemon · 06/06/2009 18:34

It's Knorr Packet French Onion Simmer on tesco.com (the packet clearly says soup, though)

SoupDragon · 06/06/2009 18:37

P&L is right
Tins, Packets & Jars > Soup > Packet Soup > Knorr French Onion Simmer

i just went to grocerys> tins and packets> soups> packet soups. i went in via tesco.com, however I have never actually bought from tesco online (only done clubcard deals) so dont know if its a different website.

TrillianAstra · 06/06/2009 19:26

Tesco online shopping will only show you what's stocked in the shop that they get it from (not necessarily your absolute closest Tesco, but the closest big one usually).
