Made the J. Oliver chicken/wine casserole last night that someone posted here - so easy and delicious. Anyone got any other similar recipes - i.e. where you have to do very little and the end result

People have been making tasty casseroles for generations before JO turned up. It's not bloody rocket science

Put combination of food in casserole dish.

Add flavourings of your choice.

Add liquid of your choice.

Cook until done in hot oven.

oh c'marn omdb. I agree re Jamie branding (and indeed re: any branding whatsoever) but lots of us don't feel that conf. about cewking . don't be a sour-arse.

Some (probably alot) of people need instructions and help with cooking - I was like that - I left home knowing nothing about cooking but you learn through reading and trial and error

I've made other casseroles too, but thought this particularly good - and easy. I'm looking for recipes (not more cassseroles!) that I can make quickly and/or ahead as I'm home alone in the evenings with a 3-month old and a 4 year old. Always make the same old things, so just looking for new ideas.

It's not rocket science, JO doesn't do anything different to anyone else really.

I agree it's nice to get inspiration for new recipes though, or you can end up in a boring cooking rut, but does it always have to be some branded name? Why don't people trust rcipes that don't have a branded name stuck to them?

Don't know if anyone's still reading this but still - just in case:
OMDB - don't worry, no offence taken. a) I am a bit of a cooking moron - that much is true - but b) I'll take my recipes where I can get them - if they're good, I don't care who/where they come from, I'm asking everyone I know as it is! The JO one I found here and tried because everyone said how good it was (which it was), not because it was one of his.

I'm definitely in a cooking rut and I don't seem to have much time to think about it so ALWAYS just end up doing the same old stuff.

I did this yesterday and it was lovely. Brown large chunks of lamb shoulder (approx 1kg) in a casserole dish, then remove and fry two onions with some garlic. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and some flour and cook for a few minutes. Add the lamb back in and coat, then add half a bottle of rosé. Boil until reduced a bit, then cover lamb with chicken stock and let simmer gently for a few hours. Just before you want to eat add in some tinned washed flageolet beans. Serve with parsley and new potatoes. Gorgeous.

The pork belly one sounds yummy - I might try that one.
