Hi all!

So we have the circus at the school tomorrow, and we have all been asked to bring in some cakes for the cake stand.
We are going to make rocky road biscuit cake thingy majiggy bobs.
I did a little test today, just a very simple mix of chocolate, crushed digestive biscuits, marshallows and sultanas. Yum yum. But I was wondering, if I add cream to the chocolate would that help to make it go further and hence make more? Would it set properly, and how much would I add?
Sorry to be a doofus, but I've never added cream before.... and I don't want to wreck the chocolate!
Also, and bright ideas of what to add or topping ideas are very welcome! Thanks

No idea about adding cream. I made some today and added some Turkish Delight (Sainsburys do their own variety- I found it in the small sweets/chcolate aisle).
Some other ideas for what to add from
BBC Good Food magazine
I think I have also seen recipes with cherries added as well, as well as using a mixture of plain and milk chocolate.

Hope all this helps.

I think it would stop it setting properly TBH.

I've just cut it into squares for DD to take to school tomorrow (think they're having a party to celebrate the end of SATS week), and we had to test it to make sure it was OK! Was very yummy!

SoupDragon's probably right; cream might stop it setting. Might be better to add extra chocolate to make it go further.

A good dollop of golden syrup might help it set etc? I put that in mine - recipe derived from Nigella's

poshsinglemum · 16/05/2009 15:35

I made a variation of Nigella's Christmas Rocky Road with ginger nuts instead of amaretto biscuets. It was delicious!
I reckon it would also taste great with choc chip cookies, shortbread and double choc chip. dribble.

Add butter and golden syrup to make it go further.
