I've bought some lollipop moulds so I can be a good mother and make some fun lollipops with my little boy, but now I've got them home I cannot think what to put in them other than squash. Has anyone got any ideas that they have used? thanksx

Blend some soft fruit with milk and freeze. I also put pieces of banana or kiwi in them so they have a surprise in the middle.

fruit juice.... perhaps a smoothie type mix (ie banana, icecream and milk etc)

that's about all I can think of.

PortoPandemico · 08/05/2009 08:13

I made some margarita ones once with Tequila. Maybe more fun for mummy than ds though....

HeadFairy · 08/05/2009 08:15

ooh I like the idea of putting some soft fruit inside them too.

FabulousBakerGirl · 08/05/2009 08:16

It's amazing what DS2 will eat if it is in the middle of a lolly....

I know this is a fag but my mum freezes one juice half way e.g cranberry or raspberry then tops up with apple juice.

Yoghurt worked, if I remember correctly. (It might have been a smoothie though).

I wonder if you could do a chocolate milkshake one with marshmallows speared on the stick inside?

Not that I want to subvert the healthy eating message, mind - and at least my suggestion wasn't tequila based

What great ideas, thanks! I just love Mumsnet, where else could you find the answer to such a silly question at 8am in the morning, it's brilliant

I like tinned fruit in mine. The ds' are just fruit juice lolly eaters.

BCNS · 08/05/2009 19:53

hereidrawtheline · 08/05/2009 21:13

I have the buzz now!

hereidrawtheline · 08/05/2009 21:15

oh nevermind you mean these things here

marmoset · 08/05/2009 21:17

Pureed pears and strawberry fromage frais taste like cola lollies - or did the last time I made them.

GlastonburyGoddess · 08/05/2009 21:19

our kids love copella apple or tropicana in theirs. do ribena(diluted) ones too but they prefer the pure juice ones.

strawberry yogurt+bit of vanilla icecream+ strawberries blended is nice too

SallyJayGorce · 08/05/2009 21:19

The lego website has ice lolly moulds shaped like lego mini characters and Lakeland has some shaped like rockets. We have plain ones but might invest...

BigusBumus · 08/05/2009 21:22

If you have a Lidl near you, buy some of theor juice that has the word "Nectar" on the front. Like Pear Nectar or Peach Nectar. Its thicker than normal juice as it has pulp in it too. Not too great for drinking, but makes great frozen lollies as the flavour is more intense than normal juice.

Plus its really really cheap!

BCNS · 08/05/2009 21:24

polly.. i'll be trying that
