sorry about the spelling!!! Basically i want to prepare a lasenya (sp) so when my partner gets home i just have to put it in the oven. Could i fry the mince, add the ingrediants and layer it and leave it on the side for a few hours before i put it in the oven? or should i put it in the fridge? then i can just put it in the oven when he gets in? The reason i'm asking is my partner doesnt finish till 10pm so i dont fancy cooking at that time from scratch. Thank you.

I do this often - it actually tastes better, I think. When DD3 has a nap, I basically assemble the lasagne in the dish I'm going to cook it in and stick it in the fridge - just get it out and cook as normal. I do the same with shepherd's pie sometimes too.
