How do I do this? Have bought the readymade meatballs from Somerfield They have this at school, so I suppose that's what he's hoping for.

I do them in the slowcooker in some wine then fish out the meatballs and use the stock to make the gravy

MatNanPlus · 29/04/2009 16:07

I would bake the meatballs for ¾ of the stated time then add hot gravy to the dish and bake for the remaining time.

just make some gravy (maybe onion gravy?) and add it to the meatballs once they are cooked or nearly cooked. What are you serving them with?

shinyshoes · 29/04/2009 16:11

mmmm tinned meatballs, yummers.

it's a bit poncey though for a kids tea. The recipe that is

I shall be having meatballs tonight too. I love the idea of baking them then pouring over gravy and baking them some more.

Are you doing it with pasta or mashed potato?

Make it cheesy mash please - I am sharing this meal virtually

ilove · 29/04/2009 16:17

Mine are cooking as we speak and they are having them with chips and peas

FourArms · 29/04/2009 16:28

Right, going for baking! Thanks everyone!

We are having them with tomato sauce for DS1, plain for DS2 (he will think they're sausages), carrots for the visitors, peas and corn-on-the-cob for visitors and DS2. Cheesy pasta for everyone!
