Have decided to make barbie cake for dd birthday - you know the type with doll poking out of centre.

Have pyrex basin to make skirt - what recipe should I use for sponge and how much?

Basin is 3pt - may be a bit big so might go and buy a smaller one.

Any other tips?

I asked this last October, and got some very good advice.
Best of luck!

Am v impressed with your pic.

So did you do apricot jam or buttercream to stick icing to the skirt & how did you get bodice to stick to the dolly?

Also did you do piping icing? If so did you get an icing set or just use those tubes?

Hope it's not too late! I used buttercream, and it worked well. The bodice stuck fine, as I squashed it to the doll, moulding it to the shape, and then made sure the edges were joined properly at the back. And I just bought a couple of tubes of ready icing from the shops. I am rubbish at this sort of thing, but turned out 'tis easy!
