Am hosting a big family get together on Sun and have no idea how many new potatoes to provide for 20 adults and 10 kids - help! We are doing salmon and pork, ratatouille plus salads, some bread rolls, so the potatoes are the main starchy element and I haven't a clue how many.... My cousin the caterer hasn't responded to urgent texts and I need to shop soon!

5 per adult and 3 per child and then add 10% for extras!

Thanks but I was hoping for weights - can't imagine counting out 100x new potatoes would make me overly popular at the market!

How about 15 handfuls then

I'd go for 5kgs to be on the safe side
