creme fraiche - what to do with it?

Yesterday I bought some lovely posh creme fraiche to have with strawberries my DH had bought

The strawberries were rubbish, all hard and tasteless even though they were looking a little overripe if anything

So now I have most of a tub of creme fraiche, about 150g, with no home...any suggestions?

Strawbs would prob. have been passable with some sugar and OJ and left to macerate.
No matter, have creme fraiche with stewed plums, or apple crumble. Or mix with oil and mustard for a dressing for waxy potatoes, or mix with dill nad smoked salmon and stir through pasta.

Fry peppers, courgette, mushroom and ham in a pan, stir in creme fraiche and grate in some cheddar - makes a great cheese sauce. Stir into fresh pasta for a yummy tea for all the family...

Oh sweet lord... cook up some chips and dip them in. Heaven.

mmm.....

I tried leaving the strawbs to sit for a while with some sugar (thats what my mum used to do with them lol) but they were still rubbish and they looked so nice.

Apple crumble might be a winner. Or might it work with fresh basil for pasta? Don't like smoked salmon but got proper salmon in freezer...but no dill, maybe watercress sauce?

Yes, salmon idea would be good.
Also creme fraiche mixed into tomatoes and basil and onions.

Pork chops cooked 'til juicy. Throw over slug of Calvados at the end if you have some.

Fry leeks and mushrooms in butter with salt & pepper.

Shovel creme fraiche and a generous dollop of mustard in and warm through. A handful of finely shredded spinach if you fancy it.

Knap the lot over the pork chops. Serve with whatever carb takes your fancy.

Half fat creme fraiche is something I buy each week now. It is sooo handy for so many things - savoury or sweet.

I roast chicken pieces with loads of veg and stir creme fraiche through it. YUM!

tomorrow we are having bacon, mushroom and creme fraiche pasta.
