Tuna, mayonnaise and sweetcorn is really nice with a baked potato

Fry some garlic and a bit of chopped parsley for a minute or so - add tin of tuna and cook for a few minutes. then add some passata - half a bottle, maybe? - or a sieved tin of tomatoes. Cook for 20 mins or so over a gentle heat, add mroe fresh parsley and serve with pasta.

Nicoise - oh I think I really really fancy that right now [mmmmmm]

Tuna and mayo pasta is a winner in this house, but my favourite is:

Cook some medium noodles in enough water to just cover them, I add vegetable stock but I also add thai curry powder, you could use any spice.

When the noodles are cooked just stir in the drained tuna. You could also add spring onions and chick peas if you had them.

Any variation on that is cheap, simple and takes 5 minutes.

we make nicoise like this:

mixed green leaves
spring onions
chopped tomatoes
runner beans
kalamata olives
tuna
baby potatoes chopped still hot
boiled eggs still hot
herbs
olive oil
salkt and cracked pepper

All mixed together.

or tuna quiche?

mix with mashed potato, sweet corn, breadcrumbs and chopped tiny red pepper and onion- and fry to make yummy tuna cutlets. serve with rice/pasta and veg

bake potatoes then scoop out the insides and mash up with tuna and low fat cream cheese, salt and pepper. Put back into the jackets and top with a little cheddar, heat in the oven and eat. Delicious. [4 medium potatoes to one tin tuna and half a tub cream cheese is about right]

When I was at university we used to have tinned tuna mixed with a tin of sweetcorn and then mix in a tin of campbells tomato soup.

put it in a casserole dish.
butter some bread and then stick on top so it's like a pie like thing.

it doesnt sound that nice, but i love it.

babyOcho · 01/04/2009 20:48

it's delicious

tonight we had spaghetti with some feta cheese, black olives, baby tomatoes, fresh mint and a tin of tuna - mixed together with a bit of olive oil and balsamic. No need to heat anything as the hot spaghetti does the job. It was seriously tasty.

sautee an onion
add thin-sliced green pepper
and mushrooms if you like
add tin of chopped tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
give it 5mins
stir through a drained can of tuna
and handful of torn basil leaves

serve over spaghetti

mmmmmm

Tuna Puff Pie

Fry an onion and red pepper in butter until soft. Add 1oz flour and cook for a minute. Gradually stir in 1 pint of milk and stir till thickened. Add 1 lb 9oz potatoes (cut into chunks) and simmer covered for 10mins. Stir in a can of tuna and heat. Meanwhile cook four 5 x 4in puff pastry rectangles in oven for 15 mins (200 C) Slash diagonal stripes across the top for decoration.
Serve large spoonfuls of tuna mix with puff pastry lids.

Very Yum

gently fry as much garlic as you can stand
stir in tuna (about a tin per person)
add lots of parsley
add to spaghetti with loads of lemon juice
also quite a lot of butter and parmesan.

Delicious but not the dieter's delight.
