Me too - I love all starters and can live without desserts, especially in restaurants where they are usually all too sweet.
Creamy mushrooms on bruschetta is partic lovely!
Goats cheese on toasted walnut bread with walnut salad.
ok I'm hungry now - this is my low point of the day...!

MuppetsMuggle · 31/03/2009 15:02

Anything with goats cheese.

Garlic mushrooms and bread to mop up butter.

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 31/03/2009 15:22

TheDevilEatsNestle · 31/03/2009 15:27

Griiled peach and Bresoala salad.

TsarChasm · 31/03/2009 15:28

I like Italian Antipasti - salami, ham, olives, artichokes, cheeses etc. I could just eat a huge plate of that really

BCNS · 31/03/2009 15:40

Tsar.. ohh now your talking.. you don't need the rest of the courses with that though.. just a bottle of good wine and some fab company

Lizzylou · 31/03/2009 15:46

Smoked salmon
Dim sum

Agree with Tillyscoutmum, I like all of her suggestions, would be my choices too.

cheltenhamgal · 31/03/2009 15:49

Sliced tomatoes, avocado and mozzarella. Not very original but with a really nice dressing yumyumyum.

When are we coming aroung?

paranoidmother · 31/03/2009 17:50

HOw am I suppose to choose I LOVE Starters - not fan of puds but all starters are good. Pate, brie, salads... mmm I shouldn't do this on an empty stomach

georgiemum · 31/03/2009 17:51

Soup is always good.

JetLi · 31/03/2009 17:53

Egg mayonnaise - but only if the may is the real thing, made from scratch (no shop bought nonsense even if it is supposedly "fresh")

Flower3545 · 31/03/2009 17:58

stir fried chicken livers on a bed of mixed leaves with chunky croutons drizzled with balsamic

drool

MintyyAeroEgg · 31/03/2009 19:06

Will concede I am possibly a little sad but have been thinking about this thread today (am obsessed by food atm) and forgot to say that i think the egg is overlooked in terms of starts these days. A nice oven baked egg in its little ramekin with toast or french bread is lush. Or a souffle. How 70s am I?

IamWearingADisguise · 31/03/2009 19:11

Breaded mushrooms and a garlic mayo dip

blissa · 31/03/2009 19:27

Droooooling over this thread.

Garlic breaded mushrooms
King prawns in garlic butter
Deep fried brie with cranberry sauce
Tomatoes and mozzerella
Bruschetta with tomatoes and mushrooms
Prawn cocktail

I love starters
