Me too - I love all starters and can live without desserts, especially in restaurants where they are usually all too sweet.
Creamy mushrooms on bruschetta is partic lovely!
Goats cheese on toasted walnut bread with walnut salad.
ok I'm hungry now - this is my low point of the day...!

Garlic Mushrooms with bread or prawn cocktail

grilled goats cheese on a slice of tart apple topped with walnut.

goats cheese and caramelised onion or a pum chutney on buschetta. with a rocket dressed salad. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I love starters.... I'll often have 3 or 4 starters instead of a main course.

Favourites are - Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil salad, anything with prawns, deep fred brie/camembert, anything with goat's cheese, garlic mushrooms are good

oooh - and fishcakes and potato skins with bacon and sour cream & chive

and Prawn on puree in Indian restaurant

Yuk Sung and Prawn toasts in Chinese

prawn cocktail (i can't help it)
battered squid with garlic mayo and lime juice
stuffed jackets
tortilla chips with guac, salsa and sour cream
moz, toms and basil
soup
breaded garlic mushrooms
anything nice
lard

Thai fish cakes with chilli and peanut dipping sauce.

Anything with goats cheese.

Garlic mushrooms and bread to mop up butter.

Anything thai with chilli sauce

i honestly think i ove all starters. they are the best bit of a meal. i think a good pate is my fav though

Griiled peach and Bresoala salad.

I like Italian Antipasti - salami, ham, olives, artichokes, cheeses etc. I could just eat a huge plate of that really

Tsar.. ohh now your talking.. you don't need the rest of the courses with that though.. just a bottle of good wine and some fab company

There is a restuarant where y parents live that only serves starters and its LUSH.

Sliced tomatoes, avocado and mozzarella. Not very original but with a really nice dressing yumyumyum.

HOw am I suppose to choose I LOVE Starters - not fan of puds but all starters are good. Pate, brie, salads... mmm I shouldn't do this on an empty stomach

Soup is always good.

Egg mayonnaise - but only if the may is the real thing, made from scratch (no shop bought nonsense even if it is supposedly "fresh")

stir fried chicken livers on a bed of mixed leaves with chunky croutons drizzled with balsamic

Will concede I am possibly a little sad but have been thinking about this thread today (am obsessed by food atm) and forgot to say that i think the egg is overlooked in terms of starts these days. A nice oven baked egg in its little ramekin with toast or french bread is lush. Or a souffle. How 70s am I?
