Turkey burgers?

for children - turkey burgers. mix turkey mince with some grated carrot and some porridge oats and make into burgers. Put in bun with cheese. my children really like these.

I tried turkey bolognaise for my dcs and they all hated it.

it is hard and dry and difficult to make it nice.

i have had best success using it for in lasagne, but had to use absolutely tons of white sauce and veg to cheer it up. easier to just use veg.

I've done some lovely Thai Turkey burgers (Turkey mince, pack of spring onions, chopped coriander and 2 tablespoons of thai green paste, s& p). Mix it up and make burgers. They were really tasty

JUBBY PIE. One of my DC's fave meals using turkey mince.

4 children

Preparation time:- 20 minutes.
Cooking time:- 35-40 minutes.
200g Minced turkey or chicken, no skin or fat
2 tbspns Vegetable oil
1 medium onion peeled and finely chopped
50g Peas, frozen
1 Pale green of 1 medium leek
1 small carrot, peeled and chopped finely
1 Stick celery finely chopped
2 tbspns Flour
150mls Chicken stock
6 tbspns Tomato ketchup
A little salt and ground pepper
750g Warm mashed potatoes with butter and milk added but not too loose.

Melted unsalted butter
Place the veg oil into a pan, add the onions, and leeks and cook for 5 minutes to soften.
Add the turkey or chicken, peas, carrots, celery, and cook for a further 10 minutes.
Add the flour and ketchup and mix well, finally add the boiling stock and bring to the boil stirring all the time. Cook for 10 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked.
Place the whole lot into a food processor and blitz until smooth, spoon into a bowl.
Place a layer of hot potato in the bottom of an oven proof dish. Top with the pureed mixture, repeat until the dish is full finishing with a topping of potato.
Butter the top of the potato well and place in a hot oven 220°C, Gas 7 until the top is nicely browned and crunchy.
If the kids like cheese then top with cheese and then glaze.
This can be made in batches and will freeze perfectly, just defrost and cook in a moderate oven.

Thanks for all the ideas.

I must admit I bought it reduced in Waitrose and didn't know what to do with it then.
