To cook with that is?

Just wondered if one brand was considered better than others?

I buy the supermarket own brand.

bodiddly · 27/03/2009 15:20

either Tesco or Filipo Berio (think that is what it is called)

MrsBoo · 27/03/2009 15:22

Fillipo Berio - ordinary for cooking, and extra virin one for anything else

IwantPeace · 27/03/2009 15:23

Do you think there is much difference between supermarket own brand and a named brand?

I personally think no difference, or not enough to make it worth it. If it's for something other than cooking, maybe, but if I'm just frying onions and mince in it, or whatever, only using a little bit, can't see the point spending more.

AitchTwoOh · 27/03/2009 15:29

i buy el cheapo from iceland for cooking, and a poncetastic one for dressings.

JazzHands · 27/03/2009 15:32

Supermarket own brand for me.

And for cooking the bog standard is fine, you'd be wasting extra virgin etc.

IwantPeace · 27/03/2009 15:35

I agree, you've changed my mind. I think I will just use supermarkets own for cooking

Waitrose bog standard for cooking.

Something poncier for salad dressings (from Italian deli).
