I'm thinking cannellini beans and stewing beef - any ideas?

Hi,

I soaked a job lot of cannellini beans and need to use them today. It's cold and I'm thinking something hearty I can throw in my new Le Creuset. I'm trying to find a sort of cannellini and stewing beef stew or something online but not having much success as they all throw in canned beans.

I've got to go out in an hour to get the meat so any ideas would be gladly received!!

I would do a morrocan tagine with lots of apricots in it, then serve with flatbread and greek yoghurt

Red wine, can toms, chopped onion, black olives.

And the beef and beans obviously.

Perhaps some herbes de provence, or sage.

Or fresh basil?

Gosh I'm rubbish at stews - very new to me. I guess I sear some stewing beef, put all the ingredients in and cook for about 2 hours?

Yep, and fry onions. then lob the lot in as you say!

I dont do enough of this kind of cooking either.

It sounds too easy!! I spend ages every evening faffing around with freshly cooked meals. I need to get on the stews as it's bound to be cheaper and easier!

Thanks for your help. Baby has just woken so off I pop to the shops. Rempy, I'm going to go with yours as it's easier to get the ingredients.

THIS Spicy Beef and Beans looks nice although I haven't tried it yet!

How about Jamie Oliver's beef stew? It's delicious. Perhaps replace the root veg with your beans?
