Can anyone help me salvage my ginger cake?

I've cooked a huge ginger cake an it tastes lovely, but it is far too dry.Apart from eating it with custard or cream,is there anyway I can moisten it?It goes against everything I stand for to waste good cake!
Thanks

Wrap it tightly in foil and leave it alone for a few days - this quite often softens and dampens ginger (and chocolate) cakes.

Get a jar of crystalised ginger and tip the juice over your cake (after poking holes in it!)

Put it in your bread bin.
It works.

I agree with Madamecastafiore but the other suggestions probably work too.

Thankyou everyone.

I've opted fr the foil, because we don't have either a bread bin or any crystalized ginger & we are a long way from the shops.I'll let you know hw it goes.
