Plum crumble recipe please - and does it freeze well?

i bought 4 punnets of plums last night, reduced from £1.00 to 5p each so i couldn't leave them on the shelf!

how do i make plum crumble, is it as easy as i think and does it freeze ok?

I freeze plums straight from tree, in bags. Defrost when needed and make topping then, or just stew and sweeten and eat with yog.

Never frozen a crumble, but I have made one: cut up plums, taking out stones. Put in dish until bottom covered, then some more if you like more. Chop up a couple of cubes of crystallised ginger and sort of sprinkle it over. Then put crumble topping on it (I assume you have a recipe for that). Crumble topping needn't be all flour with the butter. You can substitute some porridge oats and/or add sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, whatever you fancy.

with the crumble, do i need to cook the plums first, or add sugar? like the idea of oats..

Don't need to cook plums first, but do add sugar before putting crumble topping on.
I don't bothe stoning plums either, just do tinker tailor rhyme when eating crumble.

made a gorgeous crumble, found some frozn raspberries and put those in too, it was lovely.

nope! i mean, i know the rhyme but the stone spitting is a new one on me!

i used to do tinker tailor when eating prunes. To stop at rich man was too soon, so would go right through the rhyme and hend up back on rich man and have the shits for the next to days!
