hi everyone, for anyone who gets an organic veg box, i can highly recommend Jane Grigson's "Vegetable Book" for great recipes for practically all veg known to mankind.

Having sung the praises of A&C I am compelled to confess we have yet ANOTHER bag of ageing jerusalem artichokes in our fridge...

agree with snafu about the 'going off quickly' thing. also just discovered they use a sort of gas in salad bags to make supermarket salad stay fresh longer... cor!

snafu · 18/04/2005 10:47

they make a lovely soup MI

Ooh, yes, sulphur I think, wrote about it once.

ah yes, jerusalem artichokes - the soup recipe on the a&c website is good and apparently they are good roasted - a bit fiddly though, i suspect.

spots · 18/04/2005 10:48

we could do an excess veg box veg swop.

I will take your artichokes if you want motherinferior...

if you fancied a couple of carrots or some splendid purple sprouting broccoli...

For another vegetarian cookbook, I would also recommend The Cafe Paradiso Cookbook - you can get it on Amazon. The restaurant is fab, the food is so good you forget it is vegetarian.
