Sausages with a best before date of yesterday?

Do you think they are still ok to eat today? I assume so but don't want to give my DD food poisoning!

i would use them, there will be some leeway on the date.

Smell them. If they smell funny to you bin 'em. But as a rule best before dates are guidlines so they may be ok. But go with your instincts. If in doubt chuck it out. Better a bit of waste than a poorly child!

There is always leeway on the date - I just ate a yoghurt that was a week over. tasted perfectly fine. Smell is the trusty guide with meat...

i'm with booboochicken! my mum was an environmental health officer (very senior one too!) and she used to cut the mould off things before we got fed them! No harm came to us! and I don't think that a day over on sausages is anything like that bad. If they smell like sausages eat them!
