Found 2 tins of fruit cocktail in my cupboard this evening

whilst having a clear out before doing my shopping list tomorrow.

I used all my big pot of yogurt today making a lemon yogurt cake & a dip to go with tonights curry. So now what do I do with them?

Not keen on them on their own & the lo doesn't really like anything sticky anywhere near her for some unknown reason so does anyone have any other ideas to use them up?

They're well in date if not, so I could leave them there I suppose, just they looked a bit lonely sat at the back of the shelf!

Will she eat jelly? You could make a jelly and add one of the tins to the bottom before you pour the jelly in?

In winter I use tinned fruit cocktail to make a smoothie. Whizz it up in a blender add some orange juice. If you want throw in a banana or some frozen raspberries.

Scrummy!

oh no no no Maureen, it's sticky . . . . . .

& slimy!!! she "yuks" at it & pulls the funniest faces ever I laugh at her, oh says I'm mean!!

smoothies would go down well roisin, good idea thanks. The lo would love them!

Bless her!weirdo Ah well, I failed with your latest food dilema. Stick with Roisin, she knows what's she's talking about.

Of course, you could leave them in the back of the cupboard and move them on in September, when you need an emergency tin or two for Harvest!

lol, she is a bit odd sometimes! Her latest fad is wandering round with a damp flannel or a baby wipe & 'cleaning' with it, then using it for her 'nos' (nose)

I'll try a smoothie with one for her tomorrow as I've a couple of bananas that need using & if it goes down well then she can have the othr one like that as well. If not, it'll sit in the cupboard like you said

My dear old great-aunt used to drain fruit cocktail well and add it to a plain cake mixture before baking. I haven't done it myself for years - you've reminded me, I must make another. 'Tis delicious.

ta Coffee, I am a BIG! fan of cake, will use the second one in a cake.
