Look in the section where the veggie fridge stuff is. For a first attempt, I'd say buy the ready marinated stuff as it is much tastier than the plain stuff. Just fry it and chuck it in a stirfry - tis yummy.

well, depends where you shop! lol
most of the big supermarkets only stock the cauldron stuff, which isn't that great IMO.
waitrose stock taifun, which is nicer, if you happen to have a waitrose nearby.

or, if you have an independent health food kind of shop then you might be able to get something nice like clear spot or viana (my fave).

the smoked stuff is really nice if you just cut it into strips and you can add it to veggie fajitas.
otherwise stir-fry is nice, or marinade in soy and honey, sprinkle sesame seeds on and grill for a few minutes each side.

it's pretty versatile tbh, there's tons you can do with it

Its made of soy - my mum used to make her own. Try an independant health food store and ask them about the brands and types they stock - nothing the staff in those shops (apart from Seasons in Forest Row) like more than to talk about their stock

tofu stir frys are lovely. If you have a chinese shop nearby fresh tofu is much nicer.

My favourite is tofu with mushrooms. I make a marinate from shaoxing rice wine, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar, and fry tofu, beansprouts and chinese mushrooms with it.

thanks everyone. I'll have a look. I shop in Asda, Tesco and Aldi.
