Lovely new sandwich toaster - any other uses?

I'm very happy with my new sandwich toaster and have had lovely toasties nearly every day since I got it but it seems to me I could surely cook some other things on it too. It's just two flat hot plates and the top one can be raised to various different hights. Tonight I did DS's fish fingers on it which worked perfectly.

Can anyone think of any reason not to use it like this? Does anyone use their creatively? Would anything bad happen if I used it to grill tomoatoes etc...?

Also - any ideas for good toasted sandwichs for toddlers?

No reason at all, I use our George Foreman grill for toasted sarnies, 'fried' eggs (bank them in with mushrooms), all sorts.

Toasted sarnies for toddlers, tuna and cheese is popular, avoid tomato (gets too hot and holds the heat for ages). Nutella toasted sarnies are actually quite nice now and then too.

I've got this book (although bizarrely no toastie maker at present). It has loads of great ideas in it, including iirc pizzas and possibly omelettes?
